is about balancing the body and mind. With ‘ha’ representing the esoteric sun, and ‘tha’ the moon, and the practice of Hatha yoga aiming to join, yoke, or balance these two energies.
A yoga class described as ‘Hatha' will typically involve a set of physical postures and breathing techniques, practiced more slowly and with more static posture holds than perhaps a Vinyasa flow or Ashtanga class. And indeed, that is how we describe our Hatha yoga classes on EkhartYoga.
is a flowing, dynamic sequence of poses. Also sometimes called "Vinyasa Flow Yoga," this type of practice involves synchronizing the breath with a continuous flow of postures. Vinyasa is a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath. Commonly referred to as “flow” yoga, it is sometimes confused with “power yoga“. Vinyasa classes offer a variety of postures and no two classes are ever alike.
is a soulful blend of power yoga, primal movements, high intensity, tribal dance and deep abdominal toning. This all in one yoga workout will tone and sculpt your body while facilitating complete inner transformation, Buti is an Indian marathi word which means the cure to something hidden beneath the surface. Buti yoga helps women and men tap into their INNER POWER to unleash unshakable confidence, uncover true desire and bond with other women and men instead of compete.
is the yoga of surrender, based on the ancient wisdom traditions of yoga, acupuncture and Taoism. It is a restorative yoga practice that brings you back to yourself. It slows you down and calms the nervous system while it is deeply stimulating for your body and mind.
The practice consists of relaxing long held ground postures (usually 3-5 minutes), to stimulate and balance the flow of chi (energy) in the connective tissues of the body. We come into a posture slowly and put the body under temporary distress. We find an appropriate edge, where the body can be for a while. We do less physically and stay longer.
